Mobile Solar-Powered Watering System
A relocatable, automatic watering system with remote monitoring – developed for grazing livestock farmers. Designed for those who keep larger cattle or buffalo herds, use multiple pastures within a single grazing season, and draw water from various sources. The system moves with the herd as pastures change.
Draws Water from Almost Anywhere
The system can draw water from almost any source – from a 100-meter-deep drilled well, through dug wells, to lakes and surface water intake points – it can be refilled from a water tanker, and with a custom setup can even be connected to the mains water supply.
How It Works
- The pump fills a 1,000-liter buffer tank; level-sensor-based control optimizes its operation, and the refill start level can be adjusted.
- The troughs are filled by gravity from the buffer tank – each trough has its own grille-protected float valve tap. Simple, reliable mechanics that work without issue even with multiple troughs.
- In the standard setup, 3 classic watering troughs, each up to 850 liters and 6 meters long, can be connected to the system, plus one free outlet is available for tank draining, hand washing, or other water use.
- Energy is generated by solar panels and stored in batteries – the system reliably performs its function even during several consecutive cloudy or rainy days.
- Integrated electric fence operation: can be switched on and off from the side of the unit.
Remote Monitoring on Your Phone
In the phone app, all data is visible in one place: the tank's water level, the pump's operation, and the batteries' charge level. Customizable notifications alert you to any malfunction immediately – not the next day.
Designed Around Animal Behavior
The system's design is based on an analysis of the animals' drinking habits and behavior – the size of the troughs, the filling logic, and the layout are all the result of this research work. Thanks to automatic filling, the animals' water supply is continuous: they drink whenever they want, and even in the greatest heat they are never left for hours without water. This is important from an animal welfare standpoint too, and contributes to stress-free husbandry.
What Does It Save You?
The traditional solution is hauling water by tanker: tractor hours, fuel, depreciation, and labor – and filling the troughs is a task that needs doing several times a day. This system replaces all of that:
- savings on machine hours and fuel costs
- automatic operation with remote monitoring, instead of daily refilling
- the freed-up labor can be put to work elsewhere
- and you can go away: the system keeps working, and you can see on your phone that everything is fine at home
